Foremost, we believe that living as an integral part of a local gathering of believers is a vital aspect of being a healthy, productive follower of Jesus. While the scriptures never use the word 'membership,' they do paint a clear picture of things like provision of spiritual care, submission to spiritual authority, long-term commitment, consistent community, and each of us playing our particular role in the body of Christ. We believe official membership is a healthy and helpful approach to ensuring that all of those things are taking place in someone's life. Practically speaking, there are two important reasons to become a member. First, some areas of leadership and volunteering require membership. This is one way that we ensure the overall health and safety of our attenders physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Second, membership allows you to vote in all business and special meetings where we discuss and decide on important questions about the direction of the church.

People move through the membership process at different speeds. Also remember that prospective members must demonstrate that they are committed to the mission, vision, and family of Grace. With all of that said, if you are brand new at the church, you can expect the process to take at least 6 months. If you've been a part of Grace for some time already, it may take as little as a couple months.
